Happy May! We hope your Spring is off to a great start. The Bend Homes Now team has been busy over the last month. The Garcia remodel is in full swing. We are finally picking out and installing the fun stuff. Exterior paint has been completed, tile installation in the bathrooms is happening, and cabinets and light fixtures have been ordered. Yesterday was Mark’s birthday and his birthday wish was to get some work done at the house.
Brooke and Mark have been enjoying watching their daughters’ sports. Isla’s COVC Travel Volleyball season has come to an end. Other than some dicey travels over the pass it was an amazing experience and new friends were made. Andie just finished the Junior Development Academy for the Bend FC Thorns and has tryouts for her Travel Soccer team this week.
Kate took a trip to Phoenix, Arizona to see family and check off another baseball stadium off of her list. She is on a mission to visit every baseball stadium in the US. Here she is at Chase Field which is stadium number 20.
In the past few weeks of our real estate lives we have seen an uptick in buyer interest. Mark represented a buyer in a multiple offer situation and his client’s offer was accepted. He had been looking for a house for her for several months. When she fell in love with a house she was concerned about the monthly payment and really wanted to stay below a certain number so Mark provided her with some lender options and they found a solution that would work with her budget. Mark asked the listing broker what was important to her sellers and she said they wanted time after closing so they worked in a 30-day lease back at no cost into the offer. This is ultimately why the seller chose his offer. For another buyer client Mark showed 7 homes in 1 day and found his client a home she loves only to find out that there were 5 offers on the home already. A cash offer well above the other offers was the one that won. Both of these scenarios were price points under $700,000. Buyer competition is back in our local real estate market. Buying a home can be a complex an exciting process, and there are many factors to consider before you start looking at homes. Let us be your guide. COBA Showcase Home Update
We are pleased to announce that the cabinets and tile have recently been installed in the COBA Showcase home, bringing the house one step closer to completion. The cabinets are beautifully crafted by Brian’s Cabinets with plenty of storage space and stylish finishes. They add a touch of elegance to the kitchen and bathrooms, and we are confident that the homeowner will love them. In addition, the tile work is almost finished creating a clean and modern look throughout the home. The unique designs and patterns add character and elevate the overall aesthetics. We are thrilled with the progress Solaire Homes has made on this project and anticipate that it will be ready for sale in mid-June.

Why it’s great: Conveniently located on 27th Street, you can’t miss the giant colorful rooster in front of Eastside Gardens. Their knowledgeable and friendly staff are happy to suggest the perfect plants, trees and flowers to help you achieve your landscaping vision.
Brooke’s Pick:
Schillings Garden Center – 64640 Old Bend Redmond Highway Bend, OR 97701
Why it’s great: Schilling’s Garden Market is settled off the Old Bend Redmond Highway about 10 minutes northwest of Bend. They are a boutique plant nursery specializing the highest quality of shrubs and unique perennials for your landscaping needs. Additionally, Schillings has a wonderful farm stand that specializes in local, unique, high quality fruits and vegetables, dry goods and meats. The mountain views are amazing and it is a fun place to simply walk around and enjoy the vibe.
Kate’s Pick:
Galveston Gardens – 1515 NW Galveston Ave Bend, OR 97703
Why it’s great: Galveston Gardens started as a roadside stand selling vegetables in the late 1970’s. Over the years it has morphed into a full-service garden center. Well known for their gorgeous hanging baskets, planters, and large selection of annuals, and perennials, Galveston Gardens is a Bend staple that we hope is around for generations to come.
